The Widows Connect was an amazing day with so many positive things and tools to help to take away. Have never tried Yoga and found Yoga Nidra a revelation. Thank you both so much for creating this uplifting experience.
Thank you for an amazing day full of learning, fellowship, and Orla’s amazing yoga nidra meditation and relaxation. I woke up today feeling stronger and more capable of coping thanks to all of the tools I now have. Well done Karen and Orla!

Your Questions Answered
Thinking of joining our Widows Connect virtual retreat but not quite sure it’s for you?
We totally get it. That’s why we’ve gathered the most common questions here—so you can make a calm, informed, no-pressure decision.
Do I have to speak during the retreat?
No. There may be space for questions or reflection at the end, but you’re never expected to speak. You’re welcome to be silent the whole time.
Can I keep my camera off?
Absolutely. We love to see faces at the very start for a brief hello, but if you’d rather stay off-camera, that’s completely fine.
What if I cry?
Many people do. Some don’t. Tears are often the body releasing tension—and they are welcome. You’ll be in the safety of your home, supported throughout.
I really want to come but I'm not free that day...
No problem. The entire session is recorded and available for 30 days afterwards. You can watch (or rewatch) whenever you’re ready.
Is the movement part difficult or physically demanding?
Not at all. It’s somatic, gentle, floor-based movement. If you can’t get to the floor, you can do it from a chair or even your bed. You’re always invited to rest or sit anything out.
I’ve never done yoga or meditation—can I still come?
Yes. No experience needed. This isn’t about doing things “right”—it’s about how it feels. I use guided meditation because grief brains can’t always sit in silence. You’ll be gently led the entire time.
Do I need any special equipment?
Nope. Everything you need, you already have. A quiet space, a few cushions, maybe a blanket. That’s it.
Who is this retreat for?
Anyone who has lost a life partner. Married or not, same-sex or not—if you were widowed, this is your space. We mostly welcome women, but widowed men are also welcome.
Is there any support afterwards?
Only if you want it.
After the retreat, we’ll invite you to try our Remember Membership, if you’d like ongoing community and support. The retreat is standalone—but the door stays open.
